Atrial fibrillation (AF) is common. AF is undiagnosed in about a third of the cases, and is associated with serious complications such as stroke and heart failure. International guidelines recommend screening of people with an increased risk of stroke, i.e. most people over the age of 65. In the Norwegian AFstudien.no AF was detected with ECG247 in far more participants than expected. In this new research article, the doctors behind the study have shown that detected AF with ECG247 led to initiation of anticoagulation therapy in the majority of patients itch AF.
