ECG247 now introduces support for custom reference IDs for each test. This enables external systems to link their own identifiers to a test for direct integration with patient administrative systems.

How It Works

In the ECG247 Portal:

  1. Create a new test (as usual).
  2. Enter a Custom Reference ID in the new field (optional – not required).
  3. The ID is included in the export.

Note: The reference ID is intended as a stable key and cannot be changed after the test is created.

Tips

  • Make the ID unique within your organization (e.g., ORD-2025-000123).
  • Use predictable formats (prefix + serial number or UUID).
  • Do not include sensitive personal information (such as names or birth numbers) in the reference ID itself.
  • Establish a naming standard (system URI, string format, length) and document it internally.

Privacy and Security

  • The reference ID is stored in accordance with ECG247’s security practices and your organization’s access control.
  • The ID is logged in the audit trail along with other events.
  • Avoid using personally identifiable data in the ID field to minimize risk during sharing and export.

This feature is available to all enterprise customers in the portal and via API.
